Although Wingates Temperance sprang into the contest limelight in 1906 and 1907 winning both the Open and National on Rimmer pieces they had a long brass pedigree back to 1873.
They won the National in 1931 with Hubert Bath’s “Honour and Glory”, the Open in 1939 with John Irelands “A Downland Suite” and were crowned National Champions in 1971 and Open Champions in 1975.
